HazzardAyre Radio and its delivery operation KDXB has suffered some serious draw backs over the last 13 months. Seems as though we move forward 5 steps and get slammed back 3. We think we get a handle on things and then get a notice from somebody, or a partner or two gets excited, then due to delays , decides to retreat. Not everybody has a military retirement pension to lean on.
With that said, like it or not , Idaho is the state where this organization was born. We owe our fellow members and families are depending on us to succeed. The trouble is with a none technical population although some get to the goal line, overall the goal lines for us get further away.
I was happy to find the other day, our office and my quarters in Ogden are being retained for me. Which I’m taking, and am just moving things every day or every other day depending on weather.
For me as you know, moving is not as simple as picking up my stuff and relocating. Its, move 5 aircraft to Morgan, find a shop for Dixie-Wolf Toewing, and somewhere in amongst that recruit, train engineering staff that has some idea of how a military supply and pay chain works, there are steps to get an okay , on anything above $500.00 . The fact that the club as well as my company has never operated on a credit card, is one reason, we don’t have any real overhead debt. Sure there’s some vendors we have snubbed when they did not meet deadlines, or decided to drop us when the same financial tap gets closed as did in October 2013 when the Government shut down. You then pay your heavy and important back bills first then essentials and hope you can get caught up. This would be much easier if the flood gates were open and the cash stash was getting fuller. Trouble it’s not. Eli, decided to slyde back into the wait gate, Put Richie in the lets look at this closer. But at least I can see some green coming.
With the move to Ogden, the need to completely rely on out of state or out of area tech people will no longer be required. Utah has people in it that know radio and know broadcasting and from working at HAFB know a government chain of command for funds. In fact that I haven’t moved yet is two fold , based on one factor. Mother nature. The near knee deep snow, closed mountain passes and all means I had to pull my head back into the shell, and ROS here for Charlie. As it gets warmer I can get this show up and running.
Now then Idaho.
You have to look where progress and innovation has grown and where its stagnant. Twin Falls , stagnant, over near American Falls , in the town of Aberdeen is BullyDog Engine Precision tuners. So the club has voted to swap towers and sell a license to facilitate the buy of one station in Pocatello, KPIF TV and regain operations on club held licenses in both Aberdeen , American Falls and Atomic City.
There is a population of 50,000 in Pocatello, 20,000 in Blackfoot, and 150,000 in Idaho Falls, this means trainable employees, especially from Idaho State University. There is gold and silver in the area ready to be unearthed and if we can do it once we can do it again.
Finally, and I must say, wish I’d done this before, but maybe the coffers were to full to do it or something, but having DirecTV for my TV entertainment is pretty cool. Its priced right and the HBO package means some damn great movies. The problem is for even having 150 channels, there still isn’t hardly anything from 00:00 to 08:00 every day. There is a reason I brought that up. Putting up a network of everything true southern rebel TV on DirecTV on a network of our own , means dollars. DirecTV and I have entered a dialog of doing such a thing.
All I can say is things are moving, just can’t say when we land , but at least there is something on the boards.
